Today we headed out to Disneyland to do some research for the Capturing Magic blog!
We headed straight back to the Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree for the annual passholder early entry to the limited time magic Long Lost Friends event! I was REALLY looking forward to meeting some character that aren't ever out in the parks!
Mom and I =)
Food that is available for snacking on while you wait in those long character lines.
Entertainment as well!
First up were the 2 characters I wanted to meet the most! Scrooge McDuck and Ludwig Von Drake! They were just as adorable as I was hoping they would be.
Next up, Esmerelda and Frollo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. I was super disappointed to see that Clopin wasn't out with them this round. I went up and had a nice chat with them any way hoping that maybe the next time around Clopin would join them.
Cast of Robin Hood!
Jane and Terk.
Wendy, Peter Pan, Smee and Captain Hook.
Mushu and Mulan as Ping
Lilo and Stitch
I had so much fun with the Fairy Godmothers. Merryweather was a hoot!
The cast of Pocahontas. I could play around with Meeko ALL DAY.
Clop did finally come out to join his cast mates and when I was waiting in line I saw this super cute mother and son having their photo taken. Soo adorable.
Finally it was my turn and I made sure to give Clopin a good scolding for not being out earlier. He made up for it though in funny banter. I must say that Esmeralda was absolutely GORGEOUS. I wish I had a close up shot of her face because I kinda couldn't stop staring at her.
Every time the groups of characters switched they would come marching in announcements and music and dancing and whatnot.
I had to take a photo of this girls skirt because it was just adorable.
Next up, Three Little Pigs and a Big Bad Wolf!
The Big Bad Wolf was hiding so he could scare the pigs.
Practical wasn't happy with all the shenanigans going on.
So let me explain what was going on here. I wanted to get a photo of me and the Big Bad Wolf scaring the piggies. The Wolf was on board, as was Practical Pig.
Fiddler and Fifer? Totally oblivious to ANYTHING that was going on. LOL!!
Both the Wolf and Practical gave me the "we tried, but we have no idea what those two are doing" gestures. Hehe.
Once we met all the characters we headed over to the new Fantasy Faire area. I only briefly ran through here before so this time I wanted to take my time and do everything!
Which of course means trying the food! DUH!
Boysen Apple Freeze. Maybe because it was hot out or I was just really thirsty, but this drink was SO good. Since you can get it in a souvenir mug or goblet, I of course had to get one. But instead of them putting it in the mug (which would make it all sticky and gross) I just got it in the regular cup and then stuck it in the mug. LOL!
We also got the Strawberry Twist and the Cheddar Garlic Bagel Twist. Both were excellent!
With my drink!
We also checked out part of the Tangled show at the Royal Theater. It was soooo cute. They alternate between the Tangled show and a Beauty and the Beast show. We only watched part of it before we headed over to meet the Princesses!
Not a very long line thank goodness.
We are next!
Love the decor, hate the lighting. The lighting in this room really was not made for taking photos. Everything tuned out super yellow and there were really harsh shadows. I had to do quite a bit of color correcting on my photos with the princesses.
With Aurora.
With Ariel.
With Cinderella.
The store in the Fantasy Faire area has everything you would never need for a little princess of your own!
Town bulletin board.
Figaro wakes up turns his head and stares at the bird! Then like a good cat, falls back asleep =)
Rapunzel tower.
On our way out of the park I wanted to stop in my favorite Main Street store, Disneyana. I stop in this store during every trip but today I had to take photo since a couple days after this it would be closing down for good to make way for the Market House Starbucks expansion.
Finally, I am SOO glad to see Sour Balls back in the parks! I have missed them =)
See ya next time!
