Prompt Challenge - Day 19

Day 19 - Something You Miss

I knew exactly what I was gonna write in this post the moment I read the prompt!  Yay!

When I was in high school I didn't go to parties and I didn't hang out at the movie theater or the mall.  My high school hang out was Disneyland.  Every Friday and Saturday night we would get all dressed up (seriously, dressed up) and head out to Disneyland.  We would dance all night long with our friends at Tomorrowland Terrace and have a great old time.  Every weekend night there would be probably a couple hundred "locals" that would crowd the dance floor and mingle with their friends.  Those were some of the best times of my life.  Mini skirts, glitter, dancing, flirting with boys and hanging out with my friends.  Best. Times. Ever!  Here are some photos of those fabulous times.  Keep in mind that my mom used to come with us.  She would hang out at a table with some dinner and watch our purses, lol.  So yes, she knew what I was wearing =).  Here are some photos (circa 1997-1999):

Prompt Challenge - Day 18

Day 18 - Something You Regret

I can tell you straight out that I do not have any regrets.  Are there things I would do over?  Sure!  Who wouldn't?  I prefer to not regret anything, but instead think of everything as a learning experience.  Do I regret my first kiss being with a boy that I didn't even like?  No.  If I had to do it over, would I do it again?  No I would not.  Regrets tend to weigh you down and I just don't think I could live my life that way.  I like to take these experiences and learn from them.  Would I do that again?  Would I do this again?  Etc.  I think it is a bit healthier this way.  At least for me it is.

Prompt Challenge - Day 17

Day 17 - Something You're Looking Forward To

I only have one thing on my mind right now and that would be the upcoming Design Star competition:

I have been waiting a long time to take the next step in my scrapping creativity and I am finally about to get that chance!  I am so excited to get started.  I can't wait!!!!!

Prompt Challenge - Day 16

Day 16 - Dream House

Hmm.  I really have no idea what my dream house would be.  One day I see a beach house and I think man, that would be my dream home.  Then the next day I see a country cottage and think the same thing. lol.  I can tell you the couple things I would require in order for a house to be my "Dream House".  Whether at the beach, the mountains or anywhere in-between.

1) A wrap-around porch:

2) A walk-in closet:

3) A Vanity:

As long as I have those things, my home will be my dream home =)

Prompt Challenge - Day 14

Day 14 - A Picture You Love

This is by far one of my most favorite pictures I have ever taken.  I love Disneyland and for some odd reason I had never really payed attention to this little owl statue that is off to the side.  I was there by myself one day just to walk around and take some photos when I saw it.  I just love the way the photo turned out with the castle in the background and it is a photo of one of my favorite things ever!:

January Layouts!

Eek!  With all this posting about me, I totally forgot to post the layouts I did last month!  So here they are.  Credits can be found in my ScrapMatters Gallery:

Prompt Challenge - Day 13

Day 13 - Goals

Goals.  I have a few, but I am not a very goal oriented person.  I don't like disappointing myself when I don't make a specific goal.  So my current goals are as follows:
 1)  Get my ass to Walt Disney World.  I have no idea why it is taking me sooo long to get there.  Now I am officially annoyed with myself. lol.
2)  Become a digital scrapbooking designer.  This has actually been a goal for a while, but I have only recently started to make it happen.
3)  Get married.  Chris and I have been dating for 8 years.  It is time.  Sadly, I really don't think it is gonna happen anytime soon.

That is about it for now.  I kinda make up goals as I go along so they always change, but these are the ones I am currently working on.  hehe.

Prompt Challenge - Day 12

Day 12 - What You Believe

Hmm.  I am not really sure what to write about this one.  I am not a very religious person so I am not gonna go that route.  This statement makes me think of a conversation I had with Chris yesterday.
I always believe the best in people.  I have no problem leaving my purse out in the open or trusting that someone I loan money to is actually gonna pay me back or that someone actually has my best intentions at heart.  Even though there have been times where this belief has backfired, but I still continue to believe that people are good.  It may be naive of me to think this way, but it is just the way I am and I hope I never loose that belief in people.

Prompt Challenge - Day 10

Day 10 - Something You're Afraid Of

Well this one is easy.  Spiders and public speaking.  Ever since I saw the movie Arachnophobia at a young age, I have had a huge fear of spiders.  Ack, i don't even like typing the word.  Lol.  I also am scared to death of public speaking.  Projects in school where you had to get up and talk in front of the class.  Yeah, I was horrible at those.  I stutter and sweat and freak out, it is really awful.  Whenever we would have group presentations in school, I would always tell my group that I would do the majority of the grunt work in order to be the person in the group that got to talk the least.  So, I would get stuck with 1 or 2 lines to say.  Which I could still barely manage to mutter out.

So yeah, spiders and public speaking.

Prompt Challenge - Day 9

Day 9 - A Picture Of Your Friends

I am gonna sound like the biggest loser in the world right now, but I actually don't really have any friends, lol.  I have my family and I have co-workers.  Other than that, all my friends are online.  But if we are counting family as friends, then here I am with my best friends.  My cousins Lindsay and Kelly:

Prompt Challenge - Day 8

Day 8 - A Place You've Traveled To

One of my most favorite vacations was the last cruise we went on.  We went to Panama, Costa Rica and Belize.  Those 3 places have become some of the most memorable places from any of my vacation.  We had so much fun and had awesome adventures at each port.

In Panama we went to the Panama Canal, the forts at Portobelo and Iglesia de San Felipe.  Here are a few photos:

In Costa Rica we went Zip-Lining and it was sooo much fun!

Then in Belize we went cave tubing.  This was seriously awesome.  Indescribable.

Prompt Challenge - Day 7

Day 7 - Favorite Movies

I am horrible at remembering movies that I love when I am asked this question.  There are a lot of movies I love. Here are a couple that I can seriously watch over and over again:

In my opinion, the most under-appreciated of the Disney movies.  It is hilarious!

One of my favorite right now.  If I ever had a little boy I am gonna name him Declan after the cutie in this movie =)

Hands down, one of the greatest romance movies ever.  At least in my opinion.  The last scene breaks my heart every time I watch it.

I LOVE musicals.  All of them.  But if I had to pick one that I could watch everyday, it would be this one:
My cousin and I seriously watched this movie almost everyday for years!!  I could recite the whole movie to you if you like:

ALL TIME FAVORITE MOVIE.  no question about it:

Prompt Challenge - Day 5

Day 5 - Your Favorite Recipes

Ha!!  I don't know which would be more funny.  Talking about how I have never cooked a meal or throwing out a recipe and having my family laugh at me because they know I have never cooked before!!   I am not a cook.  At all.  If you want Top Ramen or a Cup o' Noodle, then I am your girl.  Luckily, I can bake.  That is the one thing I can do.  I am gonna end up living off of cakes and cookies eventually.  I really don't have any favorite recipes.  But when I eventually build up the courage to cook a hot meal I will let ya'll know =)

Prompt Challenge - Day 4

Day 4-Your Parents

Wow.  Where do i even begin?!  lol.  Let's start by saying that my parents got divorced when i was 2 years old and i haven't seen him since.  I have come to the realization that my life would not be what it is if he had decided to stick around.  My mom is my best friend.  I am a only child so it has always been me and her against the world and i wouldn't have it any other way.  We pretty much do everything together and even though she can really drive me nuts sometimes, she is pretty awesome anyway.  If i ever decide to have children, i can only hope to be half the mom that my mom is.  She doesn't have a spectacular job and she doesn't always to or say the right things, but she has always spoiled me rotten.  She is an amazing cook, loves to gossip and would give you the shirt of her back if you needed it.  We both have fixed our schedules so that we have Tuesdays off of work to just hang out.  We go to Disneyland or to the movies or go shopping and have lunch.  I know i would be totally lost without her!!  Here is me and my momma:

Prompt Challenge - Day 3

Day 3-Your First Love

Oh man.  Lets see.  I had a boyfriend my freshman year of high school.  I had another my sophomore year of high school.  But my first love didn't come along until Junior year.  His name was Tim.  He went to a different school and we met through mutual friends.  There is not really a huge story here other than we were in love and we dated for a year.  The one thing i really loved about Tim is that he used to write to me.  Most guys have trouble writing down how they feel, or at least most don't take the time to actually write.  Tim did.  Here is a layout that i made a while back with one of the notes that he sent me:
Click on the layout if you would like to read it in the gallery =)

Prompt Challenge - Day 2

Day 2 - Meaning Behind Your Blog Name

When I first started cutting hair I was advised by my tax dude to start my own business.  This ended up being a HUGE mistake, but that is a whole different story.  Needless to say, I had no idea what to call my business.  I had a purse made when i was in cosmetology school that was of a Skull and Crossbones, but instead of the crossbones it was a pair of scissors.  Hence, my logo.  That is the same design that is on the purse i use more than any other purse.  So my tax dude came up with the name Tanya's Crossbone Cuts.  It just kinda stuck.  So i use if for my blog and as my design name.  I am not sure i am still in love with it so when i actually start selling products, the name might have to be changes.  Not quite sure yet.

While you all are here, i would mind a little help coming up with a new design name =)  If you have any suggestions or ideas, leave them in the comments.  Thanks for stopping by!!
